For those with the courage and passion to pursue a career in the diving industry then the first step you will need to take is into a Divemaster course.
This rigorous but rewarding training – which can take anywhere from 6 weeks to several months to complete (depending on your schedule) – provides individuals with the skills to lead certified divers, assist instructors and manage dive sites with the utmost professionalism.
So if you’re ready to take on a new level of leadership and get paid to dive and travel the world whilst you do it then this course is for you.
Age = 18
Certification = Rescue, Current First Response & Oxygen Provider
Experience = 40 logged dives
Theory = 10 sessions including the topics of : course introduction, risk & responsibility, rescue review, specialized dive skills, dive planning & briefing, assisting, sales & employment, ecology, equipment, physics & physiology.
Water skills = 400m swim in less than 10 minutes; 800m swim with mask & fins in less than 17 minutes; 100m swim in full equipment; 4 minute tired diver tow; rescue assessment.
Shallow & Deep Water Sessions = During your divemaster you will participate in various different in-water sessions whilst practicing and perfecting skills and assisting instructors. In total all training adding up to a minimum of 40 hours.
Once completed you will be certified to assist active SDI instructors during courses, conduct and supervise dives for certified divers.
